Oscar Fashion: Winning and Losing Looks

The last award show fashion round-up for a while...a sad moment, but we must get on with it:

RED CARPET GOLD

HALLE BERRY - Flawless in this blissful creation of floaty chiffon and sequined ruffled bodice.

MILA KUNIS - Possibly the best gown of the night, this delicate tiered  dress may not suit Kunis' hard edgy persona  but all the same, the actress wears this dress perfectly. Beautifully feminine.
AMY ADAMS - Many opted less for the protruding skirt and more for the silhouette effect last night, which  is a pleasant change. Amy looks gorgeous covered from neck to toe in this rich indigo embellished gown, paired with clashing emerald green accessories.

GWYNETH PALTROW - Dripping in a silky array of golden/silvery shine, this simple yet powerfully stylish dress fits Gwyneth's modernized sense of red carpet fashion. Maybe her hair in a high, slicked back ponytail would have set the look off even further, but still stunning.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON - A pleasant surprise of fashion choice from Scarlett as we're used to seeing her in more peachy tones and prom-style cuts. This lace dress is classy yet simple. Her refreshed make up and loosely tousled bob finish off this effortless look.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE - A far cry from the scraggy, tomboy she portrays in Winter's Bone, this bold colour enforces Jennifer's youthfulness, bringing something sexy to the red carpet.

CATE BLANCHETT - Cate loves intricacy in the designs she wears and she's not afraid, like Gwen, to push the boundaries. Truly an example of art in the form of fashion, this dress must have been designed for Cate.

CAMILA ALVES - Although not an actress, Matthew Mcconaughey's girlfriend made just as much of a statement on the red carpet with this dramatic black gown with a plunging neckline and protruding empire skirt.

RED CARPET FOLD
REESE WITHERSPOON - I get that she was trying something completely different to her usual red carpet choice, but this look just didn't work. Reese is to soft around the edges to pull off this cutting, femme fatale persona.

NICOLE KIDMAN - Oh Nicole. You used to be so style-appreciated on the red carpet...what happened?

FLORENCE (FROM FLORENCE & THE MACHINE) - She usually adorns these nude-coloured tiered, floaty gowns but this is a nude gown too much. She should have tried something a little different to get us excited.

MARISA TOMEI - This just does not fit her well at all. Someone with more curves to fill out this dress, like Kim Kardashian, would have gained more Fl@unt fashion points, but on Marisa...not good.
