Miley Cyrus in Roberto Cavalli - This is the best look of the night for me as this dress is so many things without trying too hard. It's floor length shows glamour, long sleeves and high neck show class while the backless reveal adds some sexy, plus the print and colour is flows perfectly - with those three combinations how can you go wrong?
Kelly Rowland in Falguni & Shane - The new UK X Factor judge looked stunning in this low-cut minidress. This look displays an odd combination of hard leather and soft feathers but somehow it works. The spiky Louboutins set this dress off. Kelly definitely dominated the sexiness on the arrival carpet.
Britney Spears in Moschino dress & Gina Cruz shoes - Britney looked sexy in a slightly more casual way than Kelly adorning more loose-fitting attire, yet the sparkly black lining of her jumpsuit made sure she still shone for the occasion. Those shoe boots are fire!
Neyo - There's is no doubt that NeYo was the best dressed male of the night. The layering of varied shades of brown really sets this look off. NeYo looks the slickest possible while still wearing jeans oozing stylish confidence from his trilby hat down to his high tops.
Justin Bieber - He might still look too young to attend the VMAs, however Justin made sure his style was set at the same level as the rest of the more grown stars there. He manages to keep casual in his baggy jeans, adding one strong colour to this look as well as loud leopard print to amplify the outfit.
FASHION FAILURES
Nicki Minaj - Now I get that Nicki's style is supposed to be wacky to match her personality but really? This is far past wacky - it's just plain pointless. It looks like a group of nursery kids were given the license to make this outfit and they ran wild with it.
Katy Perry - I think Katy Perry dying her hair has caused her to become seriously lost. She's confused with what image of herself she wants to present as a singer. When she first came out she had a retro style and last year she rocked a pin up look, but now I guess she feels she has to follow the trend of music stars at the moment and be so 'edgy' with her style we don't understand it.
Lady Gaga I'm blaming you for these unacceptable messes.
