It's taken the whole year for her to grow on me, but with the release of this practically perfect cover version of Elton John's 'Your Song' (along with her recent genius collaboration with Tinie Tempah), the year's most successful new artist in the UK Ellie Goulding, has won me over.

Her faint, seemingly effortless, almost country-esque trills bring this song into a new element, which is hard to do considering this to be one of Elton John's most recognised songs. This subtlety effective version seems a nice way to see out the year.
