Congratulations to Idris Elba for finally winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Series. The suave East London actor won for his excellent main role in detective drama Luther, which I have praised time and time again.Finally, the world is taking serious notice of Idris' amazing acting talent. Surely, this must mean Luther is returning for series 3 this year? Let's hope...
Also, congratulations to Octavia Spencer for winning Best Supporting Actress for her heartbreaking role in The Help. It was disappointing that Viola Davis did not win Best Actress as she completely deserves it, but let's hope the Oscars will hand her an award next month.
The most emotional moment of the night - the legendary Sidney Poitier honouring Morgan Freeman - his speech was carried with such grace and poise. Freeman and Poitier sharing the same stage - magic.
