FASHION of OSCARS 2012: Let the Judging Begin...

The stars came out last night for the ceremony and so did the dresses - so who faired well in the fashion stakes?

Fl@unt's Best Dressed - Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad

Stealing everyone's limelight when she hit the carpet, Ms Lopez glistened in this sexy, figure-hugging dress making her stand out from the rest. Jen loves her sparkle.

MORE FL@UNT FASHION HITS

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton

She may not be the most vibrant of personalities, but Michelle sure made up for it in this bright dose of coral and diamond choker to add a special touch.

Penelope Cruz in Armani Prive

Penelope never gets it wrong on the red carpet. She oozed romantic movie glamour with this look and her retro hairstyle.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford           Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace

Rocking opposite colours of the monochrome spectrum, both ladies brought simple, yet high fashion looks to the ceremony. Gwyn looked captivating in her cape while Ange kept it sexy with a high slit.

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli               Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji

Although Emma's dress resembles a gown worn by Nicole Kidman to the Oscars a few years previous, I think Emma still looks beautiful and brings something different to the look.

Octavia looked amazing in this gathered sparkling gown - she knows exactly what style suits her best.

FL@UNT FASHION FAILS

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen

I had such high hopes for Jessica as she had been getting it right at other events with her colour choices and style of dress but she disappointed me with this effort. The print and colour is too dark for her skin tone and the shape of the dress drowns her.

Rooney Mara in Givenchy

Rooney's red carpet style has been edgy with dark block colours and structured fittings. She has kept this look structured around the chest area however the white colour diminishes the impact of this look I feel, at least through the camera lens.

What was your favourite look from the Oscars 2012?
