Hailed one of the top 30 model successes of the 2000s, Punky haired Agyness Deyn was the model of the moment when she hit the scene back in 2006. Born in Manchester, Deyn had only known about the small town life, working in a fish and chip shop from the time she was 13, but even then she had a rebellious, stylish streak about her.
Scouted when she was 19 while walking the streets with designer friend Henry Holland, Deyn made her catwalk debut for Marc Jacobs in New York in 2006. From that point onwards her face was seen everywhere. Deyn graced the cover of American Vogue in May 2007 alongside Doutzen Kroes, Coco Rocha, Chanel Iman and many other young faces as 'the new crop of supermodels'.
Deyn's trademark tomboy/androgynous look was in demand by all the important designers from Mulberry,to Giorgio Armani to Vivienne Westwood and many more. The striking model is truly a chameleon having changed her hair from red to black to ice blond. Deyn is currently married to American actor Giovanni Ribisi and has declared her retirement from modelling.
"I've not done it for a good long while now. I think it was about four years ago when my feelings started to change." Deyn states. "In the next five years I hope I'll have a few kids and have had progressed in my acting career."
